The Basics of Deep Jigging

There are various practices of fishing that have been adapted. There is fishing as a recreation and a sport, big game fishing, and jigging. Jigging is the fishing practice associated with a jig. A jig is the fishing bait that moves in vertical motions in the water. It is also known as the lead head and is attached with a hook at one end. The lure is made up of brightly colored body that will entice the fish and dropped to a depth of 500 feet and even more. It may either be used in freshwater and saltwater fishing.

The Basic Jig

The lure used in deep jigging is called a jig. The jig’s head comes in various shapes like fish shaped, round, or conical and in different colors. It also has a weed guard that protects the jig when it comes across muddy waters. The weight varies depending on the kind of fish—from 1/80 of a pound to an ounce. The body of a jig, on the other hand, also comes in different bright colors and resembles different shapes—frogs, paddle tails, fishes, grubs, or insects. It is usually made of rubber or silicone and may be adorned with feathers, hairs, dyed whitetail deer tail hair, chenille, and any other natural materials.

The jig is attached to a fishing rod. And you shouldn’t settle for anything less than the ones made by Shimano Company—the Shimano Trevala in conjunction with the other Shimano Trevala Jigging Rods in their butterfly jigging series. The Japanese first developed the jigging practice and so were the fishing rods that were considered for jigging. Shimano, the producer of only the best fishing equipment, have also developed a complete line of Shimano rods that were needed in jigging.

The Lightweight Jigging Rod

Just imagine a jigger using a heavy fishing rod and reel after only five drops. It’s definitely a tiring process. But with the Shimano Trevala innovation, they constructed the rod with two sheets of TC4 glass in between layers of a material made up of high modulus carbon. A TC4 glass is a lightweight material but with a very powerful pulling power. Shimano Trevala guarantees help on jiggers producing fishing rods that are dependable.

Since deep jigging has been introduced, nothing ever stops anglers from jigging. It is the fishing method that has been widely practiced around the world, especially in trying to log in a record breaking catch. Although it is just slowly gaining acceptance from the saltwater anglers in North America, it will be quite popular soon. This is especially true when they try to do deep jigging with the new Shimano Trevala. The medium or fast action of the deep water fish will not perturb the anglers, instead it will challenge them to entice these marine species and post a prized trophy catch.

Now you know that the Shimano Trevala is a complement of the Shimano’s line of butterfly jigging system. Catch the complete line of these Shimano rods from the online site of Sea Isle Tackle. You can choose from a wide array of fishing gear and equipment from Shimano.
