Thanks to the great masters, we have a rich art history for sharing. Thousands of painters have written part of the history with their works, most of them were oil paintings. There is an important painter of the Czech Republic (formerly known as Czechoslovakia) that we should know. He is Alphonse Maria Mucha (1860 – 1939), an Art Nouveau painter and decorative artist, mainly recognized for his numerous images of women. Actually, Alphonse was an excellent illustrator since childhood then with more years; he developed his huge talent in the painting.

Alphonse Mucha received his artist training in the Munich Academy of Fine Arts (Germany), Julian and Colarossi Academy (France) where he was influenced by Neoclassicism. Paul Harvey and Kevin Wasden were the painters that influenced of style of Mucha. Despite don't be a famous painter like Van Gogh or Rembrandt, there are several places where we can find oil paintings reproductions of Alphonse Mucha because he produced a lot of paintings, book illustrations, advertisements, wallpapers and designs. Mucha lived in the USA from 1906 to 1910, then returned to his natal Czech Republic and settled in Prague, where he decorated the Theater of Fine Arts and other landmarks of the capital.

Among the main works of Alphonse Mucha we can mention the following list: Moët et Chandon (1889), Gismonda (1894), Four Seasons (1895), Job (1896), The Moon (1902), Rose (1898), Night's Rest (1899), Cycles Perfecta (1897), Morning Star (1902), Dance (1898), Monaco, Monte Carlo (1897), Poetry (1898), Princess Hyacinth (1911), Evening (1899), Apotheosis of the Slavs (1926), Winter night (1920), North Star (1902), Hamlet (1899), Zodiac (1896), Girl with loose hair and Tulips (1920) and Zdenka Cerny (1913).
